Quarantine
Quaranta Giorni (forty days), a medical term that comes from the plague epidemic in the 14th century. During this time, all ships were to remain in the port for 40 days, and the crew was not allowed to leave the ship. This to reduce the spread of infection.
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is something that we haven’t experienced yet in our lives. Many of us are confined to our homes. For 40 days I will send you every day a reminder of our shared isolation in the form of a photograph of my ongoing series: Sun-Penetration. With the sun as the bringer of life. And giving light in a moment of darkness.
