Pascal and Claudia are a couple in love. He is painted blue, she in red. And they are connected. They are in the middle of the painting and the central figures.
Their names are divided and spread by their syllabus, the “building blocks” of words.
There is a yellow, positive field at the top. And a gray field at the bottom. In here is the name, PAS CAL.
And in the left and right black fields is the name, CLA UDIA.—Which is grammatically not correct.
There is a red field. Which is the headspace for Pascal & Claudia.
Pascal has big bushy black eyebrows. And Claudia a happy red smile.
They are bound together by a warming black scarf.
However, this scarf can also be seen as a rope smothering them. Or being hold by someone outside of the canvas. Also, the festive mixed red and blue stripes can be seen as prison bars.
The scarf and the stitches are the only two elements that move outside of the painted frame.
