The Happy Birthday Drawings are part of an ongoing art project, where I make small drawings for people for their birthdays. I then send a YouTube video.—Where I sing Happy Birthday and show the drawing which I made especially for them.
Would you also like to have a drawing made for you on your birthday?
Then please email me:

Happy Birthday, Ankit!
This drawing I drew on a Nefit Bosch tear-off paper block. The block consisted of forty sheets of paper (when I started the project). And has a postcard size (14,63 x 10,46 cm (5.76 x 4.12 in).
Ankit wrote me that he wishes the Covid pandemic would end. He had sent me two photographs: One of him in a suit, with his beautiful deep black hair. And one of him in a red blouse. He informed me I could also use his LinkedIn profile.
Here I saw a bridge in the red sunset. Ankit told me it is the Bandra Worli Sea-Link in Mumbai. And I thought, wow, we are so connected, because I am doing another ongoing art project, with bridges. And bridges to me symbolize connection, process, and movement.
On his profile, I can see he is from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Which I think is so cool. Because my previous Happy Birthday drawing was for Kadir from Ankara in Turkey. People, all over the world, are born. And many like to mark their birthdays.
So I combined both of his photos. 1. To show his marvelous black hair. Which I emphasized with blue to show the deepness of the groomed black. 2. The redness of his blouse in the one photo with the bridge in the beautiful red sunset. I only colored the blouse. To position Ankit in the middle. And to show that he has heart.
Today, for his birthday, I have colored my nails with glitters. And with this sparkling nail polish, I also painted his jacket, which connects us somehow. And I think it gives the drawing also something festive.
His email address has the name rockstar in it. So I want to show this too. Ankit, you rock!
When I see his suit and the sparkles, I also think of a magician. I hope Ankit’s twenty-sixth birthday wish, may soon be fulfilled. Because what did Ankit wish for? Something super selfless. That the Covid19 pandemic ends, and everything becomes nice again.
Today, 6 July 2021, Ankit celebrates his twenty-sixth birthday. Perhaps this year, he cannot yet celebrate his birthday as abundant as he would like. So I drew in the background happy people who gathered in the park to enjoy their togetherness and freedom. That this drawing may give him joy until this life can be reality.
Happy Birthday, Ankit. I wish for you: Togetherness, joy, and a Corona pandemic-free world.
